View all 5 comments. The teen has tiltt been the careful child in his family; at age seven, he was the only survivor of a school-bus crash. Blake is the responsible member of the family. I loved the idea and it reminded me of so many good ideas and it is a lot like Shustermans other books. It is here, I think, that Blake begins to get a handle on what his descent into the bowels of fear really means, that it’s about a whole lot more than just trying to survive seven souped-up carnival rides tull dawn.
December 16, at To save himself, Neall will have to finally do battle with these demons that have scared him from the outer limits of his consciousness since he was a very young kid, and he’ll have to do it in a timely fashion if he’s to have any hope of saving Quinn, too.

Fantastic YA stand alone that will raise all kinds of questions about who your friends and family truly are, and most importantly, who you are. It was so freaky all the way through, a thrill to and I loved it all the way, it was just amazingly awesome.
Blake sees that there’s no good in just dismissing the darkness inside of oneself, pretending that it doesn’t exist as it rears its head to bite.
